Spring for Waldorf
Tuition Assistance Fundraiser & Community Celebration
Honoring our Past, Imagining our Future
Friday, April 5, 2024 | 6pm | Maine Coast Waldorf School
Founded in 1984, this year marks the 40th anniversary of Maine Coast Waldorf School. Merriconeag Waldorf School opened its doors to 11 kindergarten students for its first year. By 2017, and with continued momentum and community support, the school’s mission and vision came to life—a fully integrated campus with early childhood through grade 12 together.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our Waldorf journey these past 40 years. Please join us for a community celebration, with hors d'oeuvres, drinks, music and friends as we reflect on our history and step into the future together.
Our Tiered Tuition Fund
Tiered Tuition continues to be a financial focus at Maine Coast Waldorf School. Our goal is to minimize cost as a barrier to any family that wishes to be a part of our school community. Each year, the proceeds from Spring for Waldorf directly support Tiered Tuition to increase access for families representing all socioeconomic backgrounds seeking this incredible educational experience.
We are growing our endowment and, at this time, our endowment cannot cover what we forgive via tuition assistance. Fundraising and community support help us fund what tuition alone cannot. Tuition forgiveness, including financial aid via the Tiered Tuition program, utilizes 20% of our overall operating budget. Spring for Waldorf is just one way we come together to help bridge this gap. As we celebrate 40 years at Maine Coast and prepare for the next 40, we are committed to creating a responsible and sustainable financial plan that keeps at its core our ultimate goal: providing a Waldorf education to our students in a community that values and respects all of its members and their contributions.
