After Waldorf
Our graduates step into the wider world ready to live their questions—and their answers. They carry with them not just knowledge, but curiosity; not just skills, but purpose. Whether pursuing college, careers, or creative paths, Waldorf graduates are known for their ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and adapt with resilience. They thrive in fields ranging from the arts and sciences to entrepreneurship, education, and environmental work. With a hands-on, interdisciplinary education that has nurtured both intellect and imagination, they are uniquely prepared for a world that demands both innovation and heart. They are collaborators, creators, and compassionate community members—ready not just to succeed, but to shape and serve the world they are entering.
Beginning in their junior year, students work closely with our dedicated college counselor to explore post-secondary options, a relationship that continues through senior year and culminates with personalized support in the selection, application, and financial aid process. Because our faculty and college counselor know each student deeply, they are uniquely equipped to offer thoughtful, individualized guidance.
Students take the PSAT in the 10th and 11th grades to prepare for the SAT. In the fall of senior year, a humanities course in composition focuses on developing strong personal essays, including those required for college applications.
Maine Coast Waldorf School graduates attend a wide range of colleges and universities across the country and beyond, while some choose to pursue gap years filled with travel, volunteer work, or other meaningful experiences. Our graduates thrive in college because they arrive as self-motivated, engaged learners — already comfortable with intellectual discourse, meaningful relationships with faculty, and taking ownership of their education.
