January 25 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am EST
A guest presenter, Rebekah Hopkinson, will be leading a presentation and workshop around cyber civics and how to educate children to be responsible digital citizens. A summary of the workshop is below:
The world our kids are growing up in is entirely different from the one many of us experienced in our own youth. New technologies have made it possible to access information, connect with new people, and express creativity in ways we could hardly have imagined! Yet with all these exciting possibilities come many challenges.
We know that it takes a village to raise thoughtful, ethical, and smart digital citizens. This is why it is so important for parents to start the conversation early around how you navigate the digital world in your parenting. Connect with other parents around this issue at our community workshop “Raising Kids in a Digital World” on January 25th. Lead by Waldorf Class Teacher and Cyber Civics teacher Rebekah Hopkinson, come and learn practical and positive strategies to support your child’s digital life. We’ll discuss ways to build safe and healthy relationships with technology. Discussion groups will tackle the tough questions we face as parents.
