Family Programs

We are delighted to let you know that our Family Program (Parent & Infant and Parent & Toddler classes) will be back on our Desert Road campus for the 2019/2020 school year. Classes will be held in the Farmhouse right near the Early Childhood Center.

We are equally excited that Hanna Graham, MCWS alumni and parent, will be teaching these classes once again. Hanna comes to us with a lifetime of experience with Waldorf education, a certificate from the Lifeways birth to three program, and deep enthusiasm for working with parents of young children.

Parents and caregivers of children under three have one of the most important jobs in the world, so we offer programs to nurture and support those who care for infants and toddlers. In our Parent & Infant and Parent & Toddler classes, we explore parenting challenges and share ideas about how to create a home-life that supports healthy and joyful growth.

2019/2020 Schedule

Parent & Infant Classes

Together we observe the infants as they explore their environment and gain physical abilities such as rolling, sitting, crawling and standing. Drawing on these observations, we will talk about how to best meet the needs of different developmental stages, and how to understand and enjoy the individuality of each child.

We hope you will bring your questions and share your insights. For this class, we enroll expectant parents and parents with their children from birth to 12 months.

Parent & Toddler Classes

Our Parent & Toddler classes provide a gentle structure within which 1 to 3 1/2 year-olds can confidently explore the larger world with the security of a parent nearby. Children enjoy a balance of ample free play with engaging activities. For parents the class is a chance to observe how Waldorf teachers transform simple actions into opportunities for learning, while enjoying an atmosphere of warmth, respect, and mutual support among other adults in a similar life stage.
