Family Programs

We are delighted to let you know that our Family Program (Parent & Infant and Parent & Toddler classes) will be held at Morningsong Farm in 2018/19, about 10 minutes from our Desert Road campus. Morningsong Farm has been a beloved learning environment for young children for many years, and offers beautiful indoor space as well as gardens, forests, and even chickens and horses! We hope you will be as joyful as we are about this opportunity for a location dedicated to our family programs.

We are equally excited that Hanna Graham, MCWS alumni and parent, will be teaching these classes. Hanna comes to us with a lifetime of experience with Waldorf education, a certificate from the Lifeways birth to three program, and deep enthusiasm for working with parents of young children. We appreciate your patience as we have been working behind the scenes to bring this wonderful dream to fruition.

Parents and caregivers of children under three have one of the most important jobs in the world, so we offer programs to nurture and support those who care for infants and toddlers. In our Parent & Infant and Parent & Toddler classes, we explore parenting challenges and share ideas about how to create a home-life that supports healthy and joyful growth.

2018/2019 Schedule

Parent & Infant Classes

Together we observe the infants as they explore their environment and gain physical abilities such as rolling, sitting, crawling and standing. Drawing on these observations, we will talk about how to best meet the needs of different developmental stages, and how to understand and enjoy the individuality of each child.

We hope you will bring your questions and share your insights. For this class, we enroll expectant parents and parents with their children from birth to approximately 18 months.

Children enjoy a balance of ample free play with engaging activities. For parents the class is a chance to observe how Waldorf teachers transform simple actions into opportunities for learning, while enjoying an atmosphere of warmth, respect, and mutual support among other adults in a similar life stage.
