Nature Nurtures Camp

Maine Coast Waldorf School offers three weeks of joyful outdoor play in the beautiful fields, gardens, and forests on our rural Freeport campus. Campers will enjoy fort and fairy-house building, woods walks and nature-inspired crafts and stories, picnics and shady rests. Nature Nurtures camp is designed for participants ages 3 - 6 years. Programming is 9am - 1pm.

Registration Details

A discounted registration fee is available for participants who enroll in, and pay for, all three sessions at once. The discounted registration fee is $710 for campers enrolling in three sessions.

Enrollment is limited to 11 participants per week, and is on a first come, first served basis.

Terms of Participation

My child (named above) has permission to participate in all summer program activities. I understand that these activities may include certain risks, and I assume these risks on my own behalf and on the behalf of my child.

I authorize MCWS to administer any medications listed on the Permission & Release: Administration of Medication form and acknowledge that my child will not be provided any medication I have not authorized. I further authorize MCWS to secure medical or other treatment for my child at my expense if my child is accidentally injured or taken seriously ill during the camp day.

I authorize MCWS to use my child's photo or likeness in promotional or informational materials which may be distributed to the general public.

In consideration for my child's participation in the summer program activities, on my own behalf and on the behalf of my child and our heirs, personal representatives and assigns, I hereby agree not to sue and to waive, release and discharge MCWS and its affiliates, officers, directors, agents, employees and volunteers, of and from any and all claims, causes of action and damages, which arise out of, or are connected in any way, directly or indirectly, with my child's participation in Maine Coast Waldorf School's summer program, including, but not limited to, any claims of negligence.

Meet our Team

Janet Rae Jorgensen

Nature Nurtures Camp is facilitated by Janet Rae Jorgensen with support from our caring Early Childhood staff. Janet Rae (JR) has been working professionally with children for over 20 years. For three summers, she owned and operated an outdoor nature camp, Twigs, for young children throughout the open spaces in Marin County in Northern California and was the director of KukuRiku, a farm camp in Petaluma, California for one glorious summer. She has taught children in gardens, forests, and mountains; led professional development for teachers at various schools; and was adjunct faculty at Santa Rosa Junior College teaching child development prior to moving to Maine.

Janet Rae earned her undergraduate degree in Theatre from Ohio University, and her graduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Mills College in Oakland, California.
 

Zachary Mitchell-Kemp

Zachary is an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher at Maine Coast Waldorf School, and is excited to welcome camp participants this summer!
