Parent Association

The Welcome Breakfast is part of our back-to-school rhythm in September. Everyone in the school community– parents, children, faculty, staff– is invited for breakfast, coffee, tea, and conversation before the school day begins. After their children go to class, parents and guests are invited to stay in the cafe to kick off our first Parent Association meeting of the new school year.

A showcase of the gifts and creativity of our families, students of all ages, faculty, and alumni, from musical performances to dance, poetry recitals, or short skits. The evening begins with a potluck dinner and time to mingle. This event is a great night out for families!

Did your child outgrow their skis, skates or snow gear? Drop them off and trade up for bigger sizes. Everything is free: no need to bring anything to exchange. This favorite event runs conveniently during afternoon pickup and school drop off. Our Ski & Winter Gear Swap is an annual opportunity for kitting out younger children, and wonderful for Grade 2 students and older who may need skis for winter Movement class.

Parent Education is offered through short, seasonal series of faculty-led learning groups designed to combine hands-on experience with a deeper understanding of Waldorf teaching. Content is designed to be of service to parents from Early Childhood through High School.

Our community’s version of Maine Maple Sunday! Come with your appetite for a morning shared with other MCWS families, faculty and staff. The Pancake Breakfast is hosted on a weekday before morning drop off. Bring a dish to share, join the fun on a griddle or show off your pancake-flipping skills.
