High School

Open Houses offer parents, guardians, and students a feel for what a morning at Maine Coast Waldorf High School is like. We will step into classrooms to preview the breadth of our curriculum and our vibrant student life. Throughout the visit, there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions and engage in relaxed conversations with both faculty and students.

 


 

Lower School (Grades 1–8)

Step into our first through eighth grade classrooms to experience the arc of the curriculum at Maine Coast Waldorf School and observe our talented faculty. Waldorf teachers spark curiosity through experiential learning while nurturing imagination and meaningful social connections. Take time to chat with our faculty and Admissions team, who are happy to share insights and answer your questions.

Early Childhood

Join us for a group tour to experience our beautiful Early Childhood classrooms and outdoor play areas, gain insight into our daily rhythm, and enjoy relaxed conversation with a Class Teacher. Early Childhood Open Houses are for visiting parents and guardians only. This allows guests to focus on the information being presented and encourages engagement. Babes in arms are welcome.

Traveling from out of state? We look forward to welcoming you to coastal Maine, a scenic destination in every season. Just 20 minutes north of Portland, our location puts you close to many places to stay, eat, and explore. Our Admissions team is here to offer recommendations and create a personalized, seamless itinerary for your campus visit to make the most of your time.

Fall Faire

Saturday, November 15  | 10 am – 2 pm

For over 30 years, the Fall Faire has brought our community together with welcoming and fun activities for all ages. Open to the public, it's a great opportunity for prospective families to experience the warmth and heart of our school culture.

Enjoy games, crafts, food, puppet shows, live music, and an Artisan Market featuring goods handcrafted by students and local makers.

Entry is free. Cash is recommended for any purchases from The Artisan Market or food trucks. We hope you can join us!

Affordability

Maine Coast Waldorf School is committed to fostering a community that mirrors Maine's economic diversity. We provide $1 million in support annually, reaching 45% of our student body. Applications for tuition adjustment are conducted separately and confidentially from your enrollment process, and do not impact admissions decisions.

Priority Applications

Our priority application deadline for the 2026–27 school year is February 1, 2026. Applications received after this date are reviewed on a rolling basis. Interested in a mid-year transfer? We have limited availability in select classes, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Getting Here: Your Guide to Our Campus

Our 75-acre campus is a living example of our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Plan your visit

Our Lower School (Grades 1–8) and High School campus is located at 57 Desert Road, Freeport, Maine 04032. Open Houses for these programs begin in the Community Hall building, located at the end of the main driveway.

Our Early Childhood campus is located at 60 Desert Road, Freeport, Maine 04032. Open Houses begin in the pink Early Childhood building, nestled behind the white farmhouse. If you're arriving from Interstate 295, continue approximately 25 yards past the Maine Coast Waldorf School sign. The Early Childhood driveway and parking area will be on your right.
