Do enrolled middle school students need to reapply for Maine Coast Waldorf High School?

No. Students move into our High School without reapplying, supported through a thoughtful and intentional transition.

Throughout the middle school years, students and families have many opportunities to connect with the High School—meeting faculty, attending events and performances, and getting a feel for the rhythm of daily life. In Grade 8, students are also invited to spend a full day in the High School, joining classes and experiencing the community firsthand.

Our High School is an integral part of our pre-kindergarten through Grade 12 campus, rooted in the same values, and designed to support a meaningful continuation of each student’s journey.

Does Maine Coast Waldorf School offer afterschool programs?

Over half of our middle and high school students participate in Maine Coast Waldorf School athletics. Students can join teams in Cross Country, Nordic Skiing, Track and Field (in partnership with another school), and Ultimate Frisbee. Our high school’s flexible afternoon schedule, designed with student athletes in mind, also supports those pursuing additional sports off campus.

High School Athletics

Maine Coast Waldorf School offers a range of student organizations and clubs in middle and high school, providing meaningful opportunities for students to connect, lead, and explore shared interests. Most groups meet during the school day, often at lunch, so students can participate fully without scheduling conflicts.

Daily aftercare is available for students in early childhood through fifth grade from 3–5:30 pm for an additional fee.
