About

Founded in 1984, Maine Coast Waldorf School serves students from infant & toddler play programs to early childhood through high school. Our campus provides students with beautifully designed buildings, and acres of outdoor classrooms and woodland trails.

Mission, Vision & Values

Diversity & Inclusion

Maine Coast Waldorf School strives to promote social justice and is grateful for the presence and contributions of students, families, and faculty of diverse faiths, nationalities, and identities. We are committed to affirming people of all religions, spiritual values, countries of origin, immigration statuses, races, genders, abilities, identities, and sexual orientations.

We endeavor to support a wide spectrum of learners whenever possible. Maine Coast Waldorf School intends to be a multicultural, pluralistic community; we embrace diversity as a core strength of community and seek to make our curriculum and policies as inclusive as possible.

Maine Coast Waldorf School does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational programs, hiring, self-government, admissions, financial aid and all other school-related activities, and emphatically rejects discrimination in all its forms.

Land Acknowledgement

Maine Coast Waldorf School is situated on the stolen homeland of the Wabanaki Nation. After living in harmony with the land for over 10,000 years, the culture, language and lives of the Wabanaki were decimated by colonists. As an institution dedicated to learning, diversity, and community, it is our responsibility to educate ourselves and the community in truth.

First Nations Reconciliation Tuition Program

Our First Nations Reconciliation Tuition Program offers a tuition-free Waldorf education, inclusive of any and all fees related to enrollment or school-sponsored offerings. This initiative applies to students from the territories now known as the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and welcomes those affiliated with the many sovereign tribal nations across this continent. Maine Coast Waldorf School intends to see these students through their graduation from our high school, so long as it is recognized that our school remains a good fit for a given student.
