With two days of States races at Black Mountain in Rumford, the ski team was busy during vacation. The first day, a classic race, was one for the record books. With the temperature in the 50s and deep puddles as part of the race course, the day was one the skiers will remember for a long time. This was followed the next day by a skate pursuit race in more seasonal weather conditions and a fast course. Looking at results, Emma Haims gets the consistency award, finishing both races in 2nd place, as well as 2nd in the combined scoring. Top 20 MCWS-NYA scorers were Greta Tod (classic and skate) and Isla Barmby (classic). The girls team placed 5th overall in Class B. On the boys side, James Crowley (classic and skate), Conrad Anderson (classic and skate) and Nate Barmby (classic) all enjoyed top 20 finishes, with the team placing 6th overall.
The regular season is now over, however there is a team evening on Tuesday, March 8 at 7:00pm and an optional race on Saturday. Skiers should check the latest blog post – https://mcwsnordicskiing.
