Last Thursday the middle school cross-country team made its way to Bath for the first time for a meet with Brunswick, Yarmouth, Mt. Ararat, and our hosts. We had another beautiful fall day for our last regular season races.
The girls started off the afternoon led by Rahel Delaney who maintained nearly a full minute lead throughout the race to take first place yet again. Murreal Wilmot was up next, followed shortly by Kayla McGuire and Ellen Bloch. Cruising the course in a pack were Mars Charette, Tess Welch, Pippa Wilson, and Tashi Durham, with Maddie Huntington closing out the day for the girls taking third place as a team.
Next up, the boys took five of the top 13 spots with Ian Guzman, Soren Stark-Chessa, and Tadgh Lake landing 8th through 10th, just ahead of Charles Reynolds and Eli Sidhu in 12th and 13th, respectively. Fionn Mattson, Darwin Bouteria, Sam Willard, Cam Veitch, and Angus Buck all turned in solid performances as did Leo Anderson and Oliver Newton. Kaeden Guddeck, Ben Sidhu, Oliver Finn Audley, and Luke Cline wrapped it for the boys for a first place finish.
This Thursday (10/21) we close out the season at the CCC Invitational at Twin Brook in Cumberland in a slightly different format. There are three races – boys team of 7 runs at 3:30, girls team of 7 at 4:00, and all remaining runners in a co-ed format at 4:30. Hope to see you there…
