The show must go on, and that’s exactly what we did with our first fully online Spring for Waldorf Auction. While we would have preferred an in-person event, our first online event was a huge success from both a fundraising and community building standpoint. We blew past our goal of raising $75,000 for tiered tuition, and as of today we have raised an astounding $83,356 for tiered tuition through Spring for Waldorf, helping make this education more accessible and inclusive.
Over 40% of all families at Maine Coast Waldorf School receive some kind of financial assistance via our Tiered Tuition program, which awards nearly $1 million of funding to families all across the school each year. This annual benefit auction is by far the school’s largest fundraiser for tiered tuition, and your generous support will continue to make a profound impact for so many families who are seeking our unique Waldorf educational experience.
We’d also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make this event a success. We are deeply grateful to our Heart, Head and Hands business sponsors and Host Committee for supporting this event. We are equally grateful to everyone in the community who contributed unique heartfelt or handmade items, bid on items, donated money, shared compelling testimonials, created hilarious musical skits, sang in the May Song video, emceed the event, volunteered your time and talents, or tuned in last Saturday evening to be together virtually! A special thank you to the six seniors who volunteered to use their amazing persuasiveness and charm to help “sell” auction items while reminding us of the value of a Waldorf education. All these acts of generosity are greatly appreciated.
With gratitude, Lynne Espy, Jen Pochurek, Chris Kasprak, and the Auction Team
