High School Girls place 3rd, Boys 5th, at WMC XC Championships

This past Friday, the cross country team traveled to St. Joseph’s College in Standish for the Western Maine Conference Championships. It was a perfect fall day – sunny skies but not too hot, with beautiful views of Sebago Lake and the fall colors. In attendance were all the WMC schools, with 11 girls teams and 15 boys teams. Races were delineated as follows:

  • The top seven runners from each team ran in the varsity race.
  • The remaining runners from each team ran in the jv race.
  • Results were tabulated in a variety of ways
    – Varsity and JV results are shown separately, but runners in either race were eligible to count toward the team score.
    – Team results are shown all together, and are also shown separated into Division I (large schools) and Division II (small schools)

MCWS performed well, with the girls team placing 3rd overall and taking top honors in the small school division, and the boys placing 5th overall and 2nd in the small school division. Individual performances to note: Olivia Skillings – 4th overall, Olivia Reynolds – 5th overall and Nick Neveu – 6th overall.
