Apple Tree Pruning Workshop

As part of the school’s ongoing collaboration with The Resilience Hub, MCWS hosted a well-attended and very informative apple pruning workshop on Sunday, February 19th.  The workshop was led by Post Carbon Designs director David Homa, a permaculture designer and teacher.  With over 20 years of experience in the growth, maintenance and care of apple trees, David demonstrated proper pruning tools, techniques, and strategies, using the apple orchard at our Early Childhood campus as the demonstration site.

Permaculture workshops are one way MCWS creates opportunities for adult learning for both our community and the greater community.  MCWS members who attended the workshop (Ellen Labbe, Michael Fenderson, Brian Kessler, and Lynne Espy) were thrilled to learn new skills and happy to have the chance to showcase our beautiful campus.
