Group of MCWHS Parents & Students Volunteered at Partners for World Health

On Saturday, January 7th, ten Maine Coast Waldorf  High School students and parents volunteered at Partners for World Health. They had a brief orientation and watched a video explaining the amazing history of the organization which was started by one woman ten years ago. PWH now send 10 containers a year–filled with discarded and donated medical equipment to clinics in developing countries.  The group moved shelving, boxes and sorted toothbrushes and flip flops.  Why flip flops?  In many developing countries people don’t have shoes and the donated flip flops will help prevent the transmission of deadly diseases.  Everyone learned a lot (for example, some clinics have only one oxygen mask to use for the whole clinic) and some of us plan to continue to volunteer at Partners for World Health.  For more information about PWH, go to
