Fourteen runners representing Maine Coast Waldorf competed in the Southern Class C Regional this past weekend. The promised cloudy skies over Twin Brook in Cumberland arrived Saturday morning, but (unexpectedly) so did a cold rain, which ranged from a smattering to a determined drenching. The course was soggy, slippery, spongy and a outright slog in sections. Still, this hardly seemed to slow several of our runners, who captured five individual medals, eight individual qualifications, two team qualifications, two personal records, five course bests and one Regional Class C championship. Not a bad morning’s work. . .
The boys finished first with a score of 70, beating out Waynflete by two points. Congratulations to Tucker Pierce, Nick Neveu and Dylan Wu on their top ten performances (and individual qualifications)!
The girls finished third with a score of 73, behind St. Dominic’s and Waynflete. All five of the scoring girls were recognized for qualifying as individuals (a top 30 finish) and Olivia Skillings was recognized for her top ten performance.
